Following this meeting, two Uttar Pradesh police officers were suspended for delaying the investigation in the case. After meeting the 12-year-old rape survivor and her family in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the suspension of Purakalandar police station SHO Ratan Sharma and Bhadarsha outpost in-charge Akhilesh Gupta due to delays in the investigation.

The girl's mother had informed the Chief Minister about the probe's delay, prompting swift action. Subsequently, bakery owner Moid Khan and his employee Raju Khan were arrested on July 30. The assault, which occurred two months ago and was recorded, came to light following a medical examination revealing the girl's pregnancy.

In the state assembly, Adityanath noted Moid Khan's affiliation with the Samajwadi Party and criticized the party for not taking action against him. The Chief Minister assured the girl's family of severe punishment for the accused and directed UP Child Rights Protection Commission member Anita Agarwal to meet the victim.
